I am whole.
I have an important exam in a week,
But I am whole.

I saw those beds.
I saw those halves of legs.
I saw the flesh that had been taken by the gun,
But I wasn’t there.

I saw a bloody mess –
A ten year old’s face.

I saw a child, in an agony
That I will never know.
But I do have an important exam in a week.

Parentless child,
