The
Flying Bathroom
I went into the bathroom and shut the door
And it rocketed through the atmosphere
As I dropped my trousers on the floor.
The
bathroom flew
As I sat in the water and put shampoo
In my hair –
Out there, planets passed by
And stars and moons and dust
And I thought to myself, I really must
Cut my toe-nails
And my finger-nails too.
The
bathroom flew on
Through deep space, black holes
And a vortical sun.
I
scrubbed my skin
And watched the soap-suds burst
The bubblebath’s bubbles
That I was surrounded by.
Through
the window, some sky
Indicated the end of the flight.
The earth was once again in sight
As I dried off and got dressed
Back
into my cords that were still there
Where I’d dropped them on the floor.
As
I walked out through the bathroom door,
I had absolutely no idea
That I’d just been flown
Nude around the Universe
In a room from my home.
